With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Jamie Marie Smith, age 47, of Athens, Alabama, who entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
Born on September 6, 1979, in Greenville, South Carolina, Jamie was the beloved daughter of Steven Hall and Denise Liebe. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished daughter, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. As a homemaker, Jamie poured her heart into creating a home filled with love, comfort, and unwavering support for those she held dear.
Family was the center of Jamie’s world. She lived by the words she so often shared with those she loved: “All that matters is Family, no matter what the world thinks. You’re winning if you’re a hero to your kids.” This simple but powerful belief guided her life and reflected the selfless love she gave so freely. Her legacy is not measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the lives she touched, the children she nurtured, and the family bonds she strengthened.
Jamie had a beautiful gift for making others feel loved and valued. Her warm smile, caring heart, and steadfast devotion to her family will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the lessons she taught through her love, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Jamie was preceded in death by her father, Steven Hall.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Chris Smith; her beloved children, Megan (Robert) Bradley, Haley (Scott) Carpenter, and Andrew (Riata) York; and her treasured grandchildren, Cheyenne Bradley, Hermione Bradley, Hazel Carpenter, Adeline Bradley, and Claire Carpenter. She is also survived by her loving mother, Denise Liebe; sisters, Jennifer Hall (Morton Hale) and Jessica (Austin) Wessler; brothers, Eric Blake and Jonathan (Savannah) Blake; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
While the pain of her loss is profound, her family finds comfort in knowing that Jamie’s love remains woven into every cherished memory and family gathering. Her life was a testament to unconditional love, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date and time. Decatur Brown Service Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smith family.
