CULLMAN, Ala. – Local businesswoman Cindy Myrex has officially qualified to run for Alabama House of Representatives District 12.

Gov. Kay Ivey set special election dates for Alabama House District 12. This seat was previously held by Rep. Corey Harbison, R-Good Hope, who resigned April 15, 2025.
The Special Primary Election for this seat will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025; the special primary runoff, if necessary, will be Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025; and the special general election will be Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025.

Longtime Cullman County resident and community advocate Cindy Myrex has officially qualified with the Alabama Republican Party to run for State House District 12.
“I love our hometown and the people in it,” said Myrex. “I’m running because I believe it’s time we had a strong, local voice down in Montgomery who truly understands what matters most to folks around here—faith, family, and good honest work.”
Cindy has deep roots in the district and says her campaign will focus on the values that make Cullman County such a great place to live and raise a family. Whether it’s fighting for small businesses, standing up for parental rights, or protecting conservative values, she’s ready to roll up her sleeves and get to work.
“My door is always open, and I’ll never forget who I’m working for,” she added. “I’ll take our common sense and strong convictions with me every step of the way.”
The Republican Primary will take place on July 15, 2025, Until then, Cindy says she’ll be out meeting neighbors, listening, and sharing her vision for a stronger Alabama—one community at a time.
