HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The City of Hanceville Parks & Recreation will host its annual Fish-O-Rama fishing tournament from May 22 to 24 at Veterans Memorial Park in Hanceville. This free three-day event is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
The event kicks off on Thursday, May 22, with the Special Needs Division, followed by the Senior Citizens Division (ages 55-plus) on Friday, May 23, and concludes with the Kids Division on Saturday, May 24. Each day’s registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with fishing starting at 8.
“Fish-O-Rama is more than just a fishing tournament, it’s a celebration of our community spirit,” said David Wasilewski, director of Hanceville Parks & Recreation. “It’s a day where families, friends and neighbors of all ages and backgrounds come together to enjoy the outdoors and connect through a shared love of fishing.”
Trophies will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners in each division, and door prizes will be given away throughout the event. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
“Events like Fish-O-Rama highlight what makes Hanceville special, our sense of community, our inclusiveness and our commitment to providing fun and meaningful experiences for everyone in our community,” Wasilewski added. “This is a day to come out, relax and enjoy time together and fish.”
