Martha Joan Ellinger, age 79, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Martha was born in Cullman County on January 22, 1946 to Sylvester and Ottillia Ellinger. She attended Sacred Heart School and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
She was a beloved daughter, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend. She loved to travel, especially to Major League Baseball games and casinos. She enjoyed bingo, watching her favorite teams the New York Yankees and the Auburn Tigers play ball on TV, spending time with her family, animals, and going to church.
She is survived by her sisters Ann Ellinger and Therese Ellinger, her brothers; Michael Ellinger, William (Carolyn) Ellinger, Frank Ellinger, and Joseph (Rebecca) Ellinger, Nieces and Nephews; Stephen Ellinger, Susan Ellinger, Ann Ellinger, Patrick Ellinger, Daniel (Vandy) Ellinger, and Ronald (Juliet) Ellinger, and Great Nieces and Nephews; Jake Ellinger, Brooke Griffin, Tristan Ellinger, and Makenna Ellinger, who will all miss her deeply.
A visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 p.m. A rosary will occur Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will occur Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
