Funeral services for Carol Sue Wren, 86, of Hanceville will be 10 a.m. Friday March 14th at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday March 13th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wren was born November 12, 1938, in Cullman, Alabama to the late John Cole & Roselle Allgood-Cole. She passed away March 8, 2025, in Cullman, Alabama.
A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she found great joy in worship, singing, and fellowship.
Born the daughter of a preacher, Carol’s faith was the foundation of her life. She had a heart full of love for everyone she met, always offering kindness, encouragement, and a listening ear. She found great joy in reading and had a deep appreciation for music, often lifting her voice in song during church services. Her presence in the pews was a constant, as attending church was not just a habit but a cherished part of her life.
Carol’s warmth, generosity, and steadfast faith touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this earthly home, her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Mrs. Wren is survived by her daughter, Donna Wren Marlow Nuss; grandchildren, Jamie Wren, Christopher Nuss, Stacey Baker, Aaron Marlow, Cory Wren; siblings, Melba Lindley, Weldon Cole (Delores); and her daughter-in-law, Revonna Wren.
Mrs. Wren was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Wren; parents, John Cole & Roselle Allgood-Cole; son, Randy Wren; and her brother-in-law, Fred Lindley.
