Obituary: Lucille Gilley

Lucille Gilley, of Cullman, Alabama, entered into the presence of our Lord on Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024, at the age of 95. Ms. Gilley was born in Ohio, on October 6, 1928, to William Thomas “Tom” and Effie Mae Lamberth Dunlap. 

Lucille was a lifetime member of Brooklyn Church. Ms. Gilley enjoyed working in her flowers and keeping her yard. She also enjoyed cooking for those she loved. Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was affectionately called Maw Maw by all who knew her. Lucille was a very special person, and she will be missed greatly. 

Ms. Gilley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Feltus Gilley; son, Jimmy Gilley; and brother and sister-in-law, Clifton and Boots Dunlap. 

Lucille is survived by her son, Billy Gilley (Tiny); daughter-in-law, Sheila Gilley; brother, Tommy Dunlap (Dianah); grandchildren, Angela Gilley Eubanks (Jarrod), Justin Gilley, Jennifer Eddleman (Josh); and great-grandchildren, Cole Eubanks, Caylee Eubanks, Jett Gilley, Anna Lee Eddleman, Lainey Eddleman, and Evie Mae Eddleman. 

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday evening, August 3rd, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will be held in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday afternoon, August 4th, 2024, at Brooklyn Church with Chris Washburn and Sam Gregory officiating. Ms. Gilley will lie in state from 2 p.m. until services begin. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
