Arrowhead R.V. Park will hold its inaugural Easter at Arrowhead on March 23, from 1:30-4 p.m. (Arrowhead R.V. Park)

SMITH LAKE, Ala– Arrowhead R.V. Park is a community comprised of camper-living locals and this year they have decided to go all out and make Easter weekend a party. Through the past winter months, needed updates and changes have been taking place on the campgrounds and restaurant, updating the destination and offering more appeal to prospective campers and long-term site renters.

“Our restaurant and park are both being updated in so many ways, and we can’t wait for all of our guests to enjoy them this spring and summer,” said Lisa Watts, an Arrowhead employee and one of the event organizers.” Halloween was such a hit that I figured it was worth a shot. With it being free, we do not make any profit. But we’ve worked hard on improvements to the park and want to share that with the public. It’s taken a lot of time and money and needs to be utilized and enjoyed this year.”

On March 23, from 1:30-4 p.m., the campground will open its gates and grounds to Cullman County for its inaugural Easter at Arrowhead, a free community afternoon festival featuring vendors with their wares and goods, hair tinsel and braiding, food, inflatables, cornhole, yard games, face painting and so much more to go along with the traditional Easter Egg hunt, this one with over 3,000 filled eggs for eagle-eyed hunters to hunt, find and keep. The Easter Bunny will also be on-site for free photos, allowing children to hug and squeeze the hopping pal, thanking them for their treats and treasures.

Watts went into more detail about some of the day’s events,

“The event itself is free and we will have vendors set up on site with items at their own cost. Vendors include, but are not limited to TNTees, GWH photography, Iron and Ivy Signs, Nakitta Braids, Tracy’s balloons, Southdown Acres Farm and Kreative Designs. We will have a few hidden gems throughout the park for older kids to scavenge, along with the 4500 eggs we will have laid out to gather at 3 p.m. Of course we will have the parent friendly vendors also. Tee shirts, wax melts, soaps and lotions, door hangers, key chains and wristlets, hats, cups, and more! They will all be set up and ready by 1:30. The event doesn’t end until four, so we spaced out the schedule to give everyone time to walk around and enjoy at their own pace.”

The Campground will also have a tent specifically for individuals interested in the park’s second annual Hippie Fest, to be held at the park on June 15. An inside scoop will be given to the tent’s patrons, such as band lineups, amenities and vendors. Tickets for the one-day festival will be sold at the tent and purchasing a Hippie Fest ticket on the day of Easter at Arrowhead will also come with a free parking pass.

“Hippie fest went way more local this year. We even have Jesse Priest coming!” Watts said. “We’ve spent a lot more time planning it earlier to make it bigger and better than last year!” Arrowhead R.V. Park is located at 761 County Road 941.
