Obituary: Jetty Gay Woodley Lawson

Jetty Gay Woodley Lawson, 80, of Cullman, Alabama met her savior face-to-face on Monday, June 19, 2023.

Jetty was born along with her twin sister Betty May Woodley Kitchens on July 22, 1942 to Jim and Irene Woodley. She prided herself on being part of the big Woodley family. She loved her 12 siblings along with all of their children, her nieces and nephews. Jetty spent her life serving the Lord and others. She provided care to many people during their most difficult times of need and found joy in helping others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She spent the last 37 years of her life loving her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and showing them the love of Jesus. In addition to her family, she was loved by many bonus grandchildren who affectionately called her Maw Maw Jetty.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Irene Woodley, as well as her siblings, Doc Woodley (Ara), Frank Woodley (Daphne), Felt Woodley (Marie), Robert Woodley (Lillian), Freelon Woodley, William ‘Bill’ Woodley, Ilene Hill, Doris Talley (Hoyt), Dorothy Evans (Henry), Faye Naramore, and her brother in law, Don Kitchens.

She is survived by her twin sister, Betty Kitchens, and sisters-in-law, Betty Woodley and Gail Norris; children, Ren Lawson (Sheerie) and Jennifer Christian (Michael); and grandchildren, Kristen McCay (Andy), Micah Lawson, Christa Gardner (Colton), Trevor Christian (Grace), Amberlee Christian, and Gabe Wright. Great grandchildren Evan McCay, Harper McCay, River Lawson, Clara Gardner and Conrad Gardner.

Visitation will be held at Kilgore Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 21, at 10 a.m., with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Boldo Cemetery.
