BAILEYTON, Ala. – The Baileyton “Good Time” Drag Strip is under new management. As of Friday, May 12, Adam Davis has taken over management of the site.

According to Davis, the track was built in 1966 by Jack Walker. The drag strip is important to Davis because he grew up with Walker’s grandson, Russ, who is the current owner. Davis said he and Russ raced together as kids.

The track is used for all types of drag racing. Every Saturday night from March to November it hosts bracket racing. Friday nights are set up for “test and tune” and anyone can go out and run any car down the track.

“My promise to the racers is to run a fair, efficient and timely program. The entries and purses will be racer friendly. The track will be prepped well, and safe in both lanes,” Davis said. “The facility will be clean, and the concession stand will be stocked and ready to serve you. The staff will always work hard to ensure that you will get everything you pay for and more.”

Davis said it’s important to him that the fans get the most for their money. “My promise to the fans is to build a program that you can enjoy and see the final round at a decent hour. The best way to make sure you get what you pay for is to run a race that you can watch until the end. We want you to leave feeling satisfied with how you spent your hard-earned money, and we won’t rest until we know we’re doing just that.”

Future events include the Jet Car, a jet-powered dragster that runs over 200 mph in 660 feet, scheduled for June 24.
