PREP BASKETBALL: Brackets set for 2023 Cullman County Basketball Tournament

CULLMAN, Ala. – This year’s Cullman County Basketball Tournament is fast approaching, and the county head coaches gathered at the Cullman County Schools Central Office Wednesday afternoon to determine the seeding. Both the Raiders and Lady Raiders of Good Hope finished 6-0 in county play to earn the top seeds in the varsity girls’ and boys’ tournaments while in the JV Girls division, the Cold Springs Lady Eagles earned the top seed with a record of 3-1 and on the JV Boys side, the Fairview Aggies posted a 5-0 record in the county to claim the No. 1 seed in their bracket.

The Raiders will be chasing their fourth county tournament title in five seasons and the Lady Raiders are looking to repeat after claiming the county championship a season ago.

Varsity Boys County Tournament seeding

  3. Hanceville (4-2)
  4. Fairview (3-3)
  5. West Point (2-4)
  6. Cold Springs (1-5)
  7. Vinemont (0-6)

Varsity Girls County Tournament seeding

  1. Good Hope (6-0)
  2. Cold Springs (5-1)
  3. Fairview (4-2)
  4. West Point (3-3)
  5. Vinemont (2-4)
  6. Holly Pond (1-5)
  7. Hanceville (0-6)

JV Boys County Tournament seeding

  1. Fairview (5-0)
  2. West Point (4-1)
  3. Good Hope (3-2)
  4. Holly Pond (1-4)
  5. Vinemont (1-4)
  6. Hanceville (1-4)

JV Girls County Tournament seeding

  1. Good Hope (3-1)
  2. Cold Springs (3-1)
  3. Fairview (2-2)
  4. Holly Pond (2-2)
  5. West Point (0-4)

This year’s Cullman County Basketball Tournament will tip off at Wallace State’s Tom Drake Coliseum Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. with the opening round of the JV tournaments. Admission will be $7.00.
