Obituary: Ethelene Jochum-Powell

A graveside service for Ethelene Jochum-Powell of Hanceville will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 19th at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hanceville. Reverend Jimmy Aaron will be officiating. Visitation for the public will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, September 18th at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Powell was born on April 18, 1930, in Cullman County to the late Homer and Katie Sullins. She died at the age of 92 at her residence in Hanceville on September 16, 2022.

Survivors include her three children: Shirley (Jimmy) Aaron, Charles Ray “Buck” (Jean) Hudson and Martha Jean “Lucy” Carnell; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two sisters: Imogene Pennington and Louise Evans; and a brother: Frank Sullins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her late husbands: Louie Jochum and A.C. Powell; son: Marion Jochum; daughter-in-law: Karen Jochum; and siblings: Lily Whaley, Annie Shugart, Emma Ruth Davis, Joe Sullins, David Sullins, Junior Sullins and Ernie Sullins.
