Obituary: Marvin Dale Trussell

Marvin Dale Trussell, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on September 17, 2022. He was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on September 16, 1963, to James Clifton Trussell and Catherine Louise Akers Trussell Thornton. Mr. Trussell was 59 at the time of his passing.

Marvin and his late wife, Barbara, were members of Bethel Baptist Church and he was also a member of the Holly Pond High School Class of 1982. Mr. Trussell enjoyed fishing, and he loved listening to Classic Rock music as well as the Blues. Mavin was extremely talented, and his love of old cars was apparent in the time and skill he dedicated to the restoration of many vehicles. Mr. Trussell worked for Paul Atkins Hotrods and Interiors for thirty-five years as a custom car interior specialist, only retiring as his health declined. Mr. Trussell’s passion for the industry as well as his talent will be missed, as will the friendships he had with many people. Marvin’s family was very important to him as well. He will be missed greatly by his family and by many dear friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents: James Clifton Trussell and Catherine Louise Akers Trussell Thornton; as well as his wife: Barbara Trussell.

Mr. Trussell is survived by his son: Jeff Dixon (Tessa); brothers: James Trussell (Barbara), Charles Thornton (Christina Gardner); sister: Mary Walker (Stewart); dear friends: Paul Atkins (Laurel), Terry Lynn, Bo Giddens, Dalton Lynn; a host of nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Trussell are 3 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, in the chapel of Holly Pond Funeral Home, Bro. Wayne Wisner officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family and hour prior to services, from 2 p.m., until services begin.
