CULLMAN, Ala. – Local band “Don’t Think Twice” will be appearing at Valley Tavern and Grille Friday, Jan. 21. Valley Tavern and Grille is a restaurant attached to the Cullman Bowling Alley and has been renovated in more recent years to allow a fun space for community and entertainment.
Valley Tavern opens at 11:00 a.m. each day, and “Don’t Think Twice” will begin their show at 7:30 p.m. Band members Jason Higginbotham and Jeremy Phillips both spoke with The Tribune on their upcoming burst of local bookings, with Higginbotham sharing, “For so long, Cullman missed out on live music. There are so many great local musicians, and places like Valley Tavern do a great job of promoting that talent.”
“Cullman is a growing, vibrant city.” he continued, “Live music is a relatively new added feature to its charm, and we are excited to be a part of it. All of the venues are so great to work with. Moe’s Original BBQ, The Stash House, Ledgers, Goat Island and Valley Tavern all have live music and book local and out of town acts weekly.”
Close friend and bandmate Jeremy Phillips chimed in, “The Valley Tavern is where Jason and I first met. They make us feel at home. The staff is wonderful there, as well as the staffs at all the other venues in Cullman. I do not believe you could ask for better people at our local musical venues than what Cullman has. All of the people who have come out and seen us have been so great and supportive of us, and we thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to get to perform for as many people as possible.”
He finished, saying, “We sincerely hope that everyone, and anyone who can, will come out on the 21st, hang out with us, and support The Valley Tavern Bar and Grille as a local business. Come up and introduce yourself between our song sets. We love meeting new people and hearing your input. Tell us what you like and don’t like, because that is the only way any musician can get better!”
