CULLMAN, Ala. – The City of Cullman currently has available employment opportunities with the Utilities Board, Street Department, Police Department and the Sanitation Department.
City Human Resources Director Michelle Bates acknowledges that the city government jobs have been affected by the national labor shortage. She says, “It is harder to hire more qualified candidates right now than it has been.” However, the city of Cullman has been luckier than most when it comes to the labor shortage. The city has still experienced growth during the pandemic. Bates says, “We haven’t had positions open that we have been unable to fill. Fortunately, we’ve not had some of the difficulties that the surrounding areas have had with workforce. I’m hoping as the pandemic continues to improve, that will improve the workforce for us as well.”
