HOLLY POND, Ala. – The Cullman Agriplex hosted their Preschool Pumpkins program Tuesday morning at the Holly Pond Guy Hunt Library. The kids in attendance were excited to learn about pumpkins, but even more excited to take home some little pumpkins of their own.

The kids moved from table to table coloring pumpkin patches, painting pumpkins ornaments and creating pumpkin shapes out of Play-Doh. After they listened two pumpkin-themed storybooks, they each received some homemade cupcakes courtesy of the Guy Hunt Library librarian, Melody Camp.

Agriplex Director Rachel Dawsey said, “We have found with the preschool age, play is the best form of learning.” The target age for these kinds of activities are kids aged three-four, but Dawsey says that the older kids still have fun. The Agriplex has an upcoming Heritage Homeschool Leatherwork activity on Oct. 28 staring at 9 a.m. and kids will get to take home anything they make.
