CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter’s Donna Ruttkay shares the Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

Henry is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix. He’s a lively-but-not-crazy, medium-energy pet, a long-legged fellow with soulful eyes. He enjoys human company and is quickly taking to his leash. Ruttkay calls him “a fast learner.”

Henry has the makings of a good therapy, companion or hiking dog.

Discount doggie!

Henry has already been neutered, so his adoption fee will be greatly reduced! Contact the shelter for details.

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior. Several of the shelter’s canine friends have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Please consider adopting to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.

Contact the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 256-734-5448 or visit them at 935 Convent Road NE. Reach them by email at cullmancountyanimalshelter@gmail.com.

Good news!

Ruttkay reported that recent POTW’s Big Jake and Moxie have been adopted! Another POTW-to-be, Bandit, found his forever home before he even made the paper. Thanks to the whole community for making forever homes a regular destination for our furry friends.
