VINMEONT, Ala. – After the varsity champion was crowned Tuesday night, the JV squads hit the field for their county tournament Wednesday. The opening round began at 4 p.m. and by the end of the night, the 2021 champion was crowned. That team turned out to be the West Point Lady Warriors who in dominating fashion knocked out Holly Pond 10-1 in the semifinals and shut out Fairview 9-0 in the title game to win their ninth consecutive JV county championship.

West Point 9 – Fairview 0 (Championship Game)

West Point struck first in its opening at-bats as Bethany Brock drew a leadoff walk and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ella Minck. After a scoreless second inning, the Lady Warriors began to create some distance from Fairview in their next at-bats. Caitlin Simmons got hit by the pitch with one out and she later moved to third on a passed ball. Brock brought her home with an RBI single and Minck added one of her own to make it 3-0.

West Point made it 7-0 in the bottom of the third on an RBI triple by Carsyn Blankenship, an RBI single by Sidney Burks, and a two-run triple by Minck. The Lady Warriors added to their lead in the fourth as Kylee Quinn hit an RBI triple and later scored on a wild pitch. That was more than enough run support for starter Kara Jones, who dominated the Lady Aggies from the start as she allowed just three hits and struck out nine.
