SUMITON, Ala. – Meek wrapped up its regular season on the road Friday night and after the Tigers built a big lead early, Sumiton Christian came from behind to win it 24-22 and send Meek home with a loss to end the season.

A pair of early touchdowns gave the Tigers a 16-0 lead in the first quarter and they were able to tack on another score while keeping the Eagles off the scoreboard to take a 22-0 lead into the halftime break. Unfortunately, there was little for Meek to celebrate in the second half.

Sumiton Christian found the end zone midway through the third quarter to trim the lead to 22-8 and by the start of the fourth quarter, the Eagles had gotten on the board again to make it a 22-16 game going into the final period.

The comeback continued for Sumiton Christian and the Eagles scored with just over eight minutes to play to take their first lead of the game at 24-22. The Tigers were unable to find the end zone again and Sumiton Christian held on to complete the comeback 24-22.

The loss ends the regular season at 1-9 for Meek and the Tigers will be hungry to bounce back and see what they can do next season.
