SULLIGENT, Ala. — The Addison Bulldogs dominated the Sulligent Blue Devils 49-0 on Friday night at Brown Stadium in their final game of the regular season.

Despite a sluggish start that saw the first quarter end in a scoreless tie and a lightening delay that lasted over an hour, Addison overwhelmed the Blue Devils in every way. The Addison defense held Sulligent to 83 yards of total offense while the Bulldogs’ offence racked up 430 yards on the night.

Addison (6-4, 5-1) led the way with their running attack and attempted only two passes in the whole game. Eleven Bulldogs ran the ball with Christian Roberts leading the team with 13 carries for 176 yards. He scored two touchdowns and averaged over 13 and a half yards per carry. Will Tuggle had two touchdowns also, running for 65 yards on 10 carries. Nelson Martin and Cannon Hiller each ran for a touchdown as well.

Tuggle began the scoring for the Bulldogs with 9:10 to go in the second quarter on a 12-yard touchdown run. Addison took a 20-0 lead into the half after a 40 yard score by Roberts and a one yard rush by Tuggle.

The Bulldogs scored on the first play from scrimmage in the second half with a 70 yard run by Roberts. Then, two plays after a 6-yard scamper into the endzone by Martin, Tuggle recovered a fumble and returned it for 38 yards to go up 42-0 with 7:23 remaining in the third quarter. The Bulldogs’ final score came with just over three minutes left in the third when Hiller ran it in from 28 yards out.
