DORA, Ala. – After upending Fultondale at home last week to collect a big win in its region opener, Hanceville was forced to travel this week for another region showdown, this time against the Bulldogs of Dora. Hanceville trailed 16-0 at the half and despite finding the end zone in the third quarter, it wasn’t enough, and Dora held on to take the game 37-6.

Dora jumped out in front of Hanceville quickly with a field goal that made it 3-0 early in the opening quarter and a touchdown stretched the lead to 9-0 at the end of the first. Dora found the end zone again in the second quarter to make it a 16-0 game going into halftime.

Dora got on the board again to take a 23-0 lead early in the second half, but a 9-yard touchdown run by Zach Campbell trimmed the lead to 23-6 with just under six minutes to play in the third quarter. Unfortunately, that was all the offense the  Hanceville Bulldogs were able to muster on the road and Dora was able to pull away and win it 37-6.

The loss drops Hanceville’s record to 1-2 on the season and the Bulldogs will be back home next week to take on the undefeated Good Hope Raiders.
