PREP FOOTBALL: Cullman earns 1st Class 6A top 10 ranking in school history

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest state football rankings Tuesday night and the for the first time in school history, the Cullman Bearcats were in Class 6A’s top 10. The ‘Cats landed at no. 10 in the rankings this week after defeating the Hartselle Tigers on the road 30-20 to improve to 3-0 this season. Cullman toppled Grissom 23-0 and Jasper 21-0 in its first two matchups of the year. The Bearcats will be looking for their fourth win of the season when they host Buckhorn at Oliver Woodard Stadium Friday night.

The Good Hope Raiders earned the 10th spot in this week’s Class 4A poll as well after topping West Morgan, West Point and Ashville to start their season 3-0. The Fairview Aggies received votes in this week’s Class 5A poll as did Addison in Class 2A.
