GOOD HOPE, Ala.- The City of Good Hope on Friday received a little help from the Alabama Mountains, Rivers & Valleys Resource Conservation & Development Council (AMRV RC&D) for the continued work on the City’s park expansion. Good Hope was awarded a $5,125 grant toward the completion of the walking/running trails that will soon be added to Good Hope Municipal Park.

Work on clearing and burning of the recently acquired 33 acres adjacent to the existing park was ongoing as representatives from AMRV RC&D presented the check to Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett.

“They give grants for these type of projects. We will use it on clearing, which is phase one,” said Bartlett. “We appreciate every nickel. ADECA (Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs) has some more money and we will be applying for it and we hope they will release the money by the fall.”
