FAIRVIEW, Ala. – In a lightning-swift one-day operation, local artist Bethany Kerr gave a facelift to the west wall of Fairview landmark eatery Pizza Done Right, adorning the structure with a mural featuring two pairs of pizza wings: full sized for the big folks and a tiny set of puppy wings for the many local residents who come to walk their dogs in the municipal park immediately behind the restaurant. Kerr started outlining the wings freehand around 9 a.m. and was finished with the project by midafternoon.

PDR’s Latonia Burden told The Tribune, “I seen something on Pinterest and I thought, ‘How fun!’ It come from a Chicago pizza place, and I thought, ‘We need something like that in Fairview, Alabama.’ We’re in front of a park, and everybody brings their dogs, and I’m like, ‘Let’s do dog wings, too!’ I think it’ll be a fun place for the community to come out, have some pizza, come out and take some selfies, go to the park; just have a good family day.”

Shortly after putting the finishing touches on the mural, Kerr said, “I thought it was a really fun project. When they showed me the pictures of what they wanted, I thought, ‘Wow, this is going to be fun!’ I just love things like this with whimsy, and the pizza wings are such a good idea.”

Looking over the finished product, PDR owner Cindy Reid told The Tribune, “I think it’s going to be great. I love it; I just absolutely love it. She did an awesome job!”
