HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State Community College Fine and Performing Arts program will offer a night in the “Big Apple” with an “I Love NY” cabaret dinner show Feb. 28.

A Big Apple-themed three course dinner and entertainment from Performing Arts students will be the highlight of the night. Enjoy a menu provided by the Wallace State Culinary Arts program that includes New York style cheesecake for desert and songs that epitomize the city that never sleeps.

In addition to the dinner and show, participants will have the opportunity to purchase artwork from a student and Campus Celebrity Art Sale.

“This is a fundraiser for our theatre department’s New York trip in May,” said Lauren Cantrell Salerno, director of the Wallace State Theatre program. “While we’re in New York, they will get to attend a number of workshops, see several Broadway shows, including Hamilton, and get to experience what it’s like both on stage and behind the scenes for professional actors.”

The “I Love NY” event will be held at 6:30 p.m., in the Burrow Center Atrium. Cost is $40 per person, $75 per couple, or $300 for a table of eight. Reserve your seats or get more details by contacting Heather Gillikin at 256-352-8277 or heather.gillikin@wallacestate.edu

The Wallace State Theatre program will also be presenting “Big Fish The Musical” this spring. The play based on Alabama native Daniel Wallace’s book will be staged March 12-15 in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre.
