It is with great sadness that the family of Burl Wayne Bohannon announces his passing Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at the age of 81.
He was born Aug. 26, 1938 to Julius and Lucille Dean Bohannon in Cullman, AL.
Burl was a loving husband, daddy and granddaddy. He was a good man who would stop whatever he was doing to help someone else. He served 10 years in the United States Navy and worked as a welder at Drummonds for many years. He was not only a welder but was known as a “jack of all trades” to those who knew him. He was a mechanic, carpenter, enjoyed baling hay on his tractor, rode horses and loved riding his motorcycles. He was always listening to country or bluegrass music.
His parents preceded him in death along with his son, Kirk Bohannon and grandsons Jeremy Johnson and Brandon Purdy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Loyd Bohannon; daughters Regina (Mike) Brown and Julie Givens; son, Kevin Bohannon; grandchildren Nick Johnson, Coty Bohannon, Amber Purdy, Cassie (Jamie) Stewart, Kendall Bohannon, Caitlin Bohannon and Victoria Aldridge; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters: his twin, Peggy (Roy) Self and Donnie (Albert) Gardner and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 from noon-2 p.m. at Stone Bridge Farms. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin after visitation at 2 p.m. with Bro. Randy Lynch officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Cullman Memory Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Moss Service Funeral Home. Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family at mossservicefh.com.
