WEST POINT, Ala. – West Point Theatre is busy preparing for its upcoming dinner theater event at Stone Bridge Farms. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 in the Brown Stone Centre at Stone Bridge Farms. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from any West Point High School Theatre student or from the school’s office.
Director Kim Harbison said her students have been rehearsing for the variety-style show since the beginning of the school year.
“Stone Bridge will be catering the food, and several of our theater students will be performing different musical selections and other different numbers,” said Harbison.
The show will include music, dance and piano as well.
Harbison explained, “This is in preparation for the Trumbauer District (3) Theatre Festival on Nov. 2 at Cullman High School. Many of our students who will be competing there in individual events are going to perform their individual events for our audience on that Monday night (at the dinner theater). It’s a good part of our fundraiser for entertainment and good practice for them ahead of time.”
The West Point Theatre Department is focused on individual performances this semester, but after the holidays it will begin rehearsals for “The Addams Family Musical.”
“It’s a lot of fun and we are looking forward to it. We have already done auditions for it and we have a GREAT cast,” said Harbison.
The money raised from the dinner theater event will also help with “The Addams Family” production.
