TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama senior shortstop Claire Jenkins suffered an ACL injury in practice and will miss the 2020 season. She underwent successful surgery on her left knee Thursday morning and is expected to make a full recovery.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Lyle Cain of Andrews Sports Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.

“We were very upset to learn that Claire was going to miss this season,” UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. “She is one of the most dedicated and hard-working players we’ve ever had in our program. We will be with her every step of the way in her rehab process this fall and in the spring.”
