CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter’s Donna Ruttkay introduces the Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

Lass was surrendered by an owner who is no longer able to take proper care of her, so she is accustomed to home life and being loved.  She is a short-haired collie mix who is approximately 3.5 to 4 years old. She’s an active but easy-going medium energy pet who craves human company and affirmation. She enjoys activities with her human, like getting a good grooming.

Lass has the makings of a good companion or therapy dog.

Discount doggie!

Lass was already spayed when her owner surrendered her, so her adoption fee will be greatly reduced. Check with shelter staff for details and exact cost.

Ruttkay shared that the adopter will receive new items for their new canine companion like a collar, leash, treats, toys and “anything else they’d want from the shelves in the lobby!”

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior. Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Lass’s adoption fee is $90 which includes: DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, Rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the Vet, spaying, microchip, free 30-day health insurance policy issued by 24 Pet Watch (with valid email only) and a free bag of food from Cullman Pet Depot (you must pay sales tax).

Please consider adopting, to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
