CULLMAN, Ala. — A single vehicle accident resulted in one death around 2 a.m. Sunday morning near the intersection of County Road 1545 and Alabama Highway 69. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified Amy Lachelle Drake, 42, of Cullman as the victim.
In a press release issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Senior Trooper and Public Information Officer Chuck Daniel stated, “A single-vehicle crash at 1:30 a.m. today, September 15, has claimed the life of a Cullman woman. Amy Lachelle Drake, 42, was killed when the Toyota 4-Runner she was driving left the roadway on Cullman County 1545 and struck a tree,”.
According to ALEA, “Drake, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred five miles north of Cullman.”
At this time nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
