BAILEYTON, Ala. – The Baileyton Town Council had a light agenda at its September meeting Monday evening, but it did discuss a few items regarding the new town hall under construction.

Mayor Johnny Dyar informed the council that the wiring for the security cameras for the new town hall is finished. The council also approved a payment plan on the structure. The Town will pay three payments of $95,000.

As far as the interior of the new building, Councilwoman Myra Martin suggested refinishing the Town’s display cabinets to hold the miniature historical building structures that are featured in the current town hall before they’re moved to the new building. Some discussion took place, but no action was taken.

Another suggestion was to display a plaque for each past mayor and council in the new town hall. Again, no action was taken.

The council voted to set business license fees at $100.

The council also approved the listing for sale of a lawnmower for $1,000.

Town Clerk Patricia Gilbert noted a representative with Lifeguard Ambulance Service left contact information for Dyar to reach out and speak with, however the council voted to table the discussion on the services until its next meeting.
