CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies on July 4 arrested Christopher Shaunn Bell, 29, of Hanceville after 15 grams of methamphetamine were allegedly found in his vehicle following a traffic stop.

According to a media release from the CCSO, a deputy on patrol July 4 stopped Bell on U.S. Highway 31 near County Road 616 for a traffic violation and discovered the vehicle Bell was driving had a switched tag.

During the stop, it was also discovered Bell had an active warrant with another law enforcement agency.  After he was placed under arrest on the active warrant deputies conducted a search of Bell’s vehicle and allegedly found approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine.

Bell was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. He has made bond.

“I am glad the deputies were able to arrest this suspect and seize this much meth before it was distributed into our community,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry.  “I would also like to point out this arrest was made on July 4, which shows the bad guys don’t care what day it is, they will still sell drugs, commit thefts and do other crimes, and I am very thankful for our deputies and all law enforcement that work during holidays to keep us safe.”
