CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter’s Donna Ruttkay informed us of happy happenings: our last two Pets of the Week, Chip and Remmy, have both been adopted, continuing a joyful and exciting trend. Other recent POTW’s leaving the shelter include Sugar Pie, Cookie, and Peanut.

With this week’s official POTW now off to his new adventures, Ruttkay shares a bonus Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

King is Australian Shepherd mix, approximately 2.75. years old. He’s a laid-back low to medium energy who craves human company. He’s well behaved–described as “real gentleman-like,” and is skilled on a leash. King has a hearty appetite and enjoys being groomed by his human.

He may be a King, but his tastes are simple; anywhere his people are can be his palace. King has the makings of a good emotional support, companion, or outdoor hiking dog.

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior. Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

King’s adoption fee is $90 which includes: DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, Rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the Vet, neutering, microchip, free 30-day health insurance policy issued by 24 Pet Watch (with valid email only) and a free bag of food from Cullman Pet Depot (you must pay sales tax).

Please consider adopting to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
