FAIRVIEW, Ala. – The Aggies hosted Ashville for a pair of area matchups Wednesday and with their 4-1 win in game one, Fairview secured the series victory over the Bulldogs. Jarrett Miller tossed a complete game for the Aggies and allowed just one run on five hits to go with five strikeouts.

Dalton Payne singled in the bottom of the first to drive in Malcolm Parker and make it 1-0 and Fairview added to its lead in the bottom of the second. Riley Carroll singled to left to bring around Jack Brown and just one pitch later Dayne Black singled to bring Parker Martin home and make it 3-0.

After three scoreless innings, Payne picked up another RBI when he singled into right field and scored Parker to make it a 4-0 game in the sixth. Ashville was able to get a run on the board in the bottom of the seventh, but it was too little too late, and the Aggies held on to take the series with a 4-1 win.

Payne (two RBIs) and Black (one RBI) each collected a pair of hits for Fairview and Carroll finished with a hit and an RBI. The Aggies are now 14-8 on the season and they’ll look to stay in the win column when they host Whitesburg Christian Academy on Saturday.
