SOMERVILLE, Ala. – Baseball season began today for Fairview and the Aggies are off to a 1-0 start after topping Brewer on the road 7-4. Dayne Black got the start on the mound for Fairview and tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and collecting 12 strikeouts to earn the win.

Oakley Mullican gave the Aggies a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with an RBI single and Fairview extended its lead in the top of the third. Dalton Payne drove in Riley Carroll with an RBI single and just two pitches later, Mullican made it 3-0 with another RBI single.

An RBI double trimmed the lead to 7-4 in the final frame of the game, but it wasn’t enough for the Patriots and Fairview held on to win it and start the season in the win column.
