Dr. Kathryn Pettit welcomed as medical director of new Cullman Regional Urgent Care Center

CULLMAN – Cullman Regional recently welcomed family physician Dr. Kathryn Pettit to its staff. Pettit will be serving as the medical director and will be treating patients in the new Cullman Regional Urgent Care Center.

Pettit is a board-certified family physician. She is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville and completed medical school at the University of South Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her post-doctoral training at Bethesda Family Practice in Cincinnati where she was chief resident and received the Resident of the Year award. Pettit is most passionate about providing thorough and considerate care to her patients and enjoys focusing on preventive medicine.  

The urgent care center will treat all ages for non-emergency medical conditions such as:   

  • Upper respiratory tract infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Headaches
  • Cuts/abrasions
  • Mild orthopedic injuries
  • Hypertensive urgency
  • Mild exacerbations of chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD and congestive heart failure
  • Hyperglycemia
  • Nausea/vomiting

The urgent care center will also provide the following services:

  • Flu shots
  • Vaccinations / immunizations
  • Insurance wellness screenings
  • Physicals – sports/school
  • Drug testing
  • Physicals – DOT – coming soon
  • Occupational medicine – coming soon
  • Pre-employment screenings – coming soon

Prior to joining Cullman Regional’s Urgent Care Center team, Pettit served patients in various urgent care centers and primary care clinics in north Alabama for nearly 10 years. She and her husband Dr. Ryan Pettit have two sons and reside in Arab. In her free time, she enjoys coaching travel volleyball, traveling and loves to spend time chasing around her boys, spending time with family, exercising and cooking.

Pettit will be seeing patients in the Cullman Regional Urgent Care beginning Tuesday, June 5. The facility will be open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
