CULLMAN – In the wake of Monday’s hail storm that caused tremendous damage to parts of the area, hundreds of area families are trying to pick up the pieces. Not all have the resources to do so easily. That’s where United Way of Cullman County (UWCC) hopes to help.

On Tuesday UWCC Assistant Director Becky Goff said, “The UWCC has established a relief fund to help with the recovery needs and address the problems of the devastating and widespread hail damage in the area caused by the March 19, 2018 storms.  All contributions donated to United Way’s Hail-Storm Relief Fund will be used to help with both immediate, basic needs and long-term recovery services."

“‘We are giving 100 percent of the donations made to the Relief Fund to help with recovery efforts," said UWCC Executive Director Sammie Danford. "Year-round, United Way invests in first responders, so they can respond quickly in times of disaster, as they are doing now.”
