CULLMAN – It was senior night on the pitch for Fairview who took on West Point for the second and final time this season and the night was filled with excitement and jubilation.

The boy’s game was a flurry of action in the first 40-minute half. Each team took the ball up and down the field taking shots on goal to no avail; that is until the 28:53 mark when Grant Howard picked up a goal on a shot that rebounded off of the Warrior keeper. The shot put the Aggies on top 1-0 nearly 12 minutes into the game.

It would take West Point over 10 minutes to answer the Fairview goal, but answer it they did and in a big way. Tristan Skinner of West Point received a pass on the far side of the field and took aim at the goal. With the ball leaving his foot like a rocket, it shot past the Aggie goalie and found the back of the net, but West Point was not done.

A short 33 seconds later, William Lee drove a textbook shot past the keeper and buried it in the back of the net to score what turned out to be the game-winning goal. The Warrior defense came up big in the second half, keeping Fairview off the board and out of the goal to notch their second win of the season.

Final score: West Point 2, Fairview 1

Fairview 3, West Point 0 (girls)

In a total opposite of the boys’ match, all of the offense came in the second half as the Lady Aggies took down the Lady Warriors for the second time this season by a 3-0 margin.

Trinity Delzell was the first Lady Aggie to make her mark on the game when she scooted the ball from the far post to the near post and into the net for the first Fairview goal less than two minutes into the second half.

At the 26:12 mark, Khylah McLeroy would put her shot on goal to the near post and put Fairview up 2-0.

The final Aggie goal came off the foot of Ashley Latham who was assisted by Aysha Semadeni on the free kick, putting Fairview on top 3-0.
