ADDISON –  Pitching was the name of the game Tuesday afternoon as the Cold Springs Lady Eagles traveled to Addison to take on the Lady Bulldogs. It was a highly anticipated matchup as the circle featured two JUCO commits in Riley White for Cold Springs (Snead State) and Ragen Yarbrough for Addison (Calhoun Community College).

Yarbrough was on fire in the first five innings. She put the Lady Eagles on lockdown, allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out seven. White was equally as tough on the Addison batters, allowing just one run and two hits over the course of three innings.

Despite the great fastball and smooth drop ball that Yarbrough possessed Tuesday, Cold Springs was finally able to push through in the top of the sixth with timely hitting and capitalizing on a pair of costly Addison mistakes. Drew Sanders got things going for the Lady Eagles by drawing a base on balls. Following a hit batsman, West roped a double to right field, picking up the Lady Eagles first RBI and run of the afternoon. Two errors later, Cold Springs had grabbed the lead and would not relinquish it. Williams would pick up the second RBI of the inning, knocking in Voce to make the score 4-1.

Addison would return the favor in the bottom of the seventh, scoring on a Cold Springs two-base error. However, the Lady Eagles would shore up their defense and close out the game by a final score of 4-2.
