CULLMAN – Nothing’s more exciting than the warm, crisp air of spring, and that spring-time sun means it’s gardening season. Plot rental for CP&R’s Community Garden, located at Nesmith Park, is happening now at the Cullman Civic Center and online at http://cullmanrecreation.org/online-registration/ and is limited to the first 14 registrants. The cost for rental through October is $35; for $75, participants also receive weekly gardening classes and can participate in work sessions.

The Community Garden has 18 wood-framed beds, each 4 ft. x 8 ft. in dimension. For those who signed up for them, classes will take place on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m., with a work session on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon with the CP&R gardening instructor. Participants taking the classes will be provided with all seeds, fertilizer and tools needed for their beds.

Registration is now open at the Cullman Civic Center and limited to the first 14 who register; online registration is also available at http://cullmanrecreation.org/online-registration/.
