Carolyn Lucille Otto Trawick left this life on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 with family by her side at her home in Crane Hill, AL. Born May 15, 1936 in Birmingham, AL to Calvin C. Otto and Evelyn D. Otto. Carolyn graduated from Ensley High School and attended the University of Alabama. While attending the University of Alabama, Carolyn married Jack A.Trawick, native of Ariton, AL. They had three children then later moved to Vestavia Hills, AL where her children graduated from high school then Auburn University. Carolyn and Jack built a home on Smith Lake in Cullman, AL where she resided for over 29 years.

Carolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Cullman, AL. She had been active in church serving on the staff Parish Relations Committee for three years, Hospitality Group, Horizon Sunday School Officer and Wednesday morning Bible Study Group where her faith grew stronger.

Known as 'The Lake Lady', Carolyn was a Broker/Owner of Trawick Realty, Cullman, AL which specialized in the sale of Smith Lake properties for over 24 years. Prior to her real estate profession, Carolyn worked at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Administration for ten years. Her passions in life included spending time with family, church, gardening, and 'lake loving' activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents Calvin C. Otto and Evelyn Dial Otto, her brother William Calvin Otto.

She is survived by her husband Jack A. Trawick, Crane Hill, AL, brother James Otto (Peggy), Crane Hill, AL, sister-in-law Phyllis Otto, Atlanta, GA; three children: Steve Trawick (Susan), Rainbow City, AL, Nancy Ellis (Gavin), Cullman, AL, Susan Blakley (Barry), Birmingham, AL; grandchildren: Ashley Trawick, Cullman, AL, Whitney Gay (Michael), Helena, AL, Gavin Ellis, Jr. (Bailee), Gardendale, AL, John Blakely, Birmingham, AL, Trawick Ellis, Cullman, AL, Barrett Blakely, Birmingham, AL; nephew Taylor Otto, Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Cullman, AL, followed by a grave side prayer at Cullman City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Mitchell Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
