Norma Jean Wrenn, 94, of Vinemont, Alabama, passed away on October 21, 2026. Born September 12, 1932, in Nesmith, Alabama, Norma Jean is cherished by those who knew and loved her and remembered with deep respect.
She married her loving husband, Earl, on April 10, 1953, in Iuka, Mississippi.
She was an active member in ministry of Saint Andrew’s Global Methodist Church since 1959. Throughout the years, she was a member of the Joy Circle, Chancel Choir, worked with children and youth, and many other ministry activities.
She worked for Holeproof Hosiery, at the library at Vinemont School, and later as Secretary for Cullman County Head Start/Community Action.
After retirement, Norma Jean and her beloved husband, Earl, embraced a season of travel and togetherness. As members of the Free State Sam’s Camping Club, they traveled the country in their RV, and especially treasured sharing those experiences with family—taking children and grandchildren camping and to the lake for pontoon rides—creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Norma Jean was preceded in death by her father, Alton Floyd Ray; her mother, Vera Pauline Ray; her beloved husband, Earl Edsell Wrenn; her infant twin sons, Dan and Van Wrenn; her sister, Ima Jean Hardin; her brother, Willie Joe Ray; and her grandson, Michael Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Wrenn Ellenburg (Tim); her son, Greg Wrenn (Terri); her grandchildren, Melody Bradley, Morgan Stewart, and Will Wrenn (Katie); her great-grandchildren, Fletcher Bradley, Kase Wrenn, and Marlee Kate Wrenn; and her half brothers, Garland Ray, Darryal Ray, and Randal Ray (Brenda).
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the grace, compassion, and kindness shown by the CRMC ER and 3rd Floor East staff during her final hours.
Flowers are welcome, or if you prefer, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Church Foundation.
