HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Holly Pond built a 28-0 halftime lead and held Hanceville scoreless Friday, Sept. 11, in a 50-0 victory reported by the Broncos Sports Network.
Hunter Tolbert contributed two first-half touchdowns as the Broncos established an early lead and extended it throughout the game. Holly Pond led 14-0 after the first quarter, 28-0 at halftime and 40-0 entering the fourth.
The win followed Holly Pond’s 65-14 loss to Oneonta a week earlier.
John Hamby opened the scoring for the Broncos, according to The Tribune’s live scoring updates. Tolbert added the next touchdown as Holly Pond moved ahead 14-0 in the opening quarter.
Tolbert scored again in the second quarter, and a successful 2-point conversion pushed the advantage to 22-0. Holly Pond added to its lead before halftime, sending Hanceville into the break trailing 28-0.
The Broncos continued to pull away in the second half, adding 12 points in the third quarter while keeping the Bulldogs off the scoreboard. Holly Pond added 10 more points in the fourth to complete the shutout.
Holly Pond is scheduled to host Vinemont on Friday, Sept. 18. Hanceville will travel to Glencoe that night.
