CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Electric Cooperative will host its annual Touch A Truck event on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cullman County Fairgrounds. Admission is free, and this year’s event will combine family fun with an opportunity to give back.

Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items or hygiene products to support Cullman Electric Cooperative’s Community Cupboard. Each item donated earns one entry into a giveaway featuring prizes such as a Cozy Coupe, water table, bike and basketball goal — giving families a fun incentive to help neighbors in need.

A sensory-friendly hour from 9-10 a.mwill provide a quieter, more accessible experience for attendees.

Touch A Truck is designed as a hands-on event where children and families can explore a wide variety of vehicles up close. Emergency responders, local businesses and organizations will showcase fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, bucket trucks, tractor trailers, school buses, farm equipment and heavy construction machinery. Representatives will be on-site to answer questions and guide visitors through the vehicles.

“Touch A Truck is one of our favorite ways to bring the community together,” said Lindsey Dossey, manager of communications and external affairs at Cullman Electric Cooperative. “It’s a day where kids can explore, families can connect and neighbors can support one another. By pairing this event with donations for our Community Cupboard, we’re able to turn a fun experience into something that truly makes a difference for local families.”
