CULLMAN, Ala. – The countdown is on for the 2025 Cullman County Fair, set for Oct. 9-18, at the Cullman County Fairgrounds, 1501 Sportsman Lake Road NW. The opening ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m.
The annual fair parade took place this past Saturday’s downtown, and this Thursday, the gates will open to a slate of pageants, livestock exhibitions, contests and shows that have made the fair a fall staple for generations.
Fair admission is $10 for ages 10 and older, with children 9 and younger admitted free. Ride arm bands are available for $30 Monday through Thursday and $35 Friday through Sunday and can be purchased at the fairgrounds. All-in-One Passes are $30 and include admission and rides. These passes can be purchased at most Peoples Bank locations through noon on Thursday, Oct. 9. (Organizers note that supplies are limited and encourage fairgoers to purchase early.) The midway is provided by Kissel Entertainment.
The Coca-Cola Theater will once again host the annual Fair Queen and Princess competitions, a tradition that draws contestants from across Cullman County each year.
Pageants are open to a range of age groups, giving young participants the opportunity to step on stage, showcase their poise and represent their schools or communities.
The most anticipated event is the Miss Cullman County Fair pageant, set for Tuesday, Oct. 14, when high school representatives compete for scholarship opportunities and the chance to serve as an ambassador for the fair.
The winner not only earns a crown, but also carries the responsibility of representing Cullman County at appearances throughout the year.
Each pageant begins at 7 p.m. and follows this schedule:
- Tiny & Petite Fair Princess — Thursday, Oct. 9
- Little Fair Princess — Monday, Oct. 13
- Miss Cullman County Fair — Tuesday, Oct. 14
- Junior Fair Princess — Wednesday, Oct. 15
- Teen Fair Princess — Thursday, Oct. 16
In addition to rides and pageants, the fair will feature a variety of special events and daily attractions designed for all ages. From contests that highlight creativity to interactive shows that entertain the whole family, these events help set the Cullman County Fair apart as one of the region’s premier fall gatherings.
- Senior Citizens Day — Wednesday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Painted pumpkin competition — daily, Oct. 9–18
- Scarecrow contest — daily, Oct. 9–18
- Petting zoo — daily, Oct. 9–18
- Stone Age Show — daily, Oct. 9–18
- Dinosaur and caveman performers, acrobats, jugglers and interactive acts — daily, Oct. 9–18
Livestock competitions will take center stage in the barns during the first week of the fair, with categories spanning cattle, goats, sheep, horses and pets. These events showcase the hard work of area youth and families involved in agriculture and 4-H.
The livestock show schedule is as follows:
- Dairy Cattle and Goat Show — Saturday, Oct. 11, 6 p.m.
- Youth Pet Show — Sunday, Oct. 12, 5 p.m.
- Combined Sheep and Goat Shows — Monday, Oct. 13, 5 p.m.
- Youth Cattle Shows — Tuesday, Oct. 14, 5 p.m.
- Youth Horse Show — Thursday, Oct. 16,6 p.m.
In addition to livestock, visitors can explore exhibits in home arts, crops, crafts and creative works, all on display throughout the fair’s run from Oct. 9-18.
