CULLMAN, Ala. – The wildly popular Little Pink Dress benefit will be held at Stone Bridge Farms on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6-9 p.m. The annual event is a fundraiser for local nonprofit Cullman County Bosom Buddies Foundation, which supports local area residents in cancer treatment.
Foundation Board President Jennifer Limerick said tickets are $70 each, or $500 for a table for eight.
“Our goal is to encourage everyone to dress to impress in your favorite shade of pink or some accessories with pink, but pink is not required,” Limerick said. “Each guest does have to have a physical ticket for admission and there is information needed to be completed on the back for a fast check-in process. Every dollar raised goes to help a cancer patient in need whether, it’s a man, woman or child with any type of cancer.”
Limerick said Bosom Buddies is a small group of all volunteers who raise money to help cancer patients who are Cullman County residents and in an active treatment program.
“Our goal is to help pay basic living expenses and some medical expenses as needed,” she said. “No money is ever given to the patients directly, but we do go pay utility bills, purchase gas cards and groceries, gift certificates, as well as rent, mortgage payments and medical bills for the patients.”
Little Pink dress debuted in October 2019.
“We did a lot of little fundraisers over the years, but the need was getting greater so we decided to create an event that everyone would want to attend,” Limerick recalled. “We thought this would raise money that was worth all the effort we put into organizing and preparing for it. Roy Drinkard always attended our event – he was a big supporter of Cullman County Bosom Buddies – and Sheriff Matt Gentry decided he would auction off his cowboy hat and autograph it and Roy Drinkard was the highest bidder and won Matt’s hat.”
She said the absolute best and most fun part of the night is the “celebrity waiters’ competition.”
“City vs. county do a tip competition and the winner gets bragging rights,” she laughed. “The county was always the winner until 2025, with the city taking home the win. Waiters consist of city and county officials, police, deputies, attorneys, firemen, city and county leaders, etc. The Bosom Buddies call it our ‘celebrity waiters’ competition.’ All tips raised goes toward our event fundraiser goal. The goal is to raise $100,000, and although this has been more difficult to get businesses and banks to sponsor our event this year, we are counting on the support of our community that attend to help us raise funds to continue the volume of assistance that we provide.”

“Our Foundation operates through the Nurse Navigation program at CRMC so any patient needing assistance needs to apply for assistance through that program,” Limerick said. “CCBBF also has an outreach program where we visit breast cancer surgery patients at the hospital, giving them a bag of items needed for recovery. These bags have a drain bags shirt, a shower drain bag holder, a pillow, blanket, seat belt cover, socks, mastectomy bra, breast forms, educational materials, magazines, note pad, pen, activity books to help patients through their recovery process. This small group of ladies that help have a passion for cancer patients, and not all our volunteers are cancer survivors but ladies that love to help others and have a heart to serve others.”
The Bosom Buddies have an annex building located at 2201 Second Ave. NW, Suite B in Cullman where they keep supplies and materials, but hours are not set weekly.
