Ricky ‘Rick’ Owen Nix, age 72, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at CRMC, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by his family and friends.
Rick was a graduate of Walter E. Stebbins High School and was a man who found joy in the simple things that made life special. He had a deep love for all kinds of music and was a talented drummer. Music was an important part of his life, and his love for it stayed with him throughout the years.
Rick took great pride in his home and yard. He loved working outside, keeping his yard beautiful, and making sure his home was always neat and pretty. He took satisfaction in caring for the place he called home.
A true sports fan, Rick rarely met a sport he didn’t enjoy. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, loved Alabama football, and was a huge sports enthusiast. Whether watching a game or talking about his favorite teams, sports were a big part of who he was.
Some of Rick’s happiest memories were made at the beach. He loved beach vacations and especially treasured the father-daughter beach trips he shared with his daughters. Those special trips created memories that his daughters will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Ricky will be remembered for his love of music, sports, his home and yard, the beach, and most importantly, his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created with those who loved him will live on.
