CULLMAN, Ala. – The City of Cullman Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals met on Aug. 18, to address one variance request.

The request pertained to the minimum lot area for a development at 1432 Dripping Springs Road NW.

The Board said the minimum square footage for the duplex is 10,000 square feet. The proposed lot is 9,561 square feet with a variance of 439 square feet.

Hillary Sharpton with Leonard Design shared, “We request we reduce the lot line and reduce the size of the duplex.”

She said a drainage pipe that runs close to where the building will be built could pose a concern for the foundation in the future.

“We just wanted to shift the lot line over 5 feet and shift the building so we don’t have an issue in the future,” she added.

The request was approved.

The Board will meet next on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the city hall auditorium.
