COLONY, Ala. – The Colony Town Council at its Aug. 11 addressed local roads.
The Council announced that the town was not awarded a grant from the Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program this year.
The Alabama Department of Transportation says of the program: “The RAA Annual Grant Program is an ALDOT administered transportation infrastructure grant program for projects of local interest created in the Rebuild Alabama Act of 2019. Projects may be submitted for improvements to any classified road or bridge open to public traffic.”
The Council discussed worsening local roads, including problem with potholes. Members said they plan to have a special meeting with the Cullman County Commission to address issues with Fields Road.
The Council approved a $1,940 expenditure to repair windows at the Tom Bevill Library and Colony Educational Complex.
