Travis Lynn White, of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on Sunday morning, July 26, 2026, at the age of 74. Travis was born on August 8, 1951, to the late James Aubrey and Lucy Anna Ree Love White.
Those proceeding Mr. White in death include his parents; beloved wife of thirty-eight years, Linda Reid White; brother, Jerry White; and grandchildren, Tarrant White and Lexi White.
Travis is survived by his children, Brett White (Jennifer), Lacey McGriff (Zach), Chuck Schultz (Nandi); sister, Betty Green; sister-in-law, Alice White; grandchildren, Destiny Goodman (Mason), Collin Schultz, Mia McGriff, Jackson Schultz, Grayson McGriff; a host of nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Travis was a member of the Holly Pond High School Graduating Class of 1969. While in school Travis, known to most everyone as “Moose,” was an all-around athlete, playing all sports well. He continued to play adult softball for many years and umpired, all while working a full-time job in quality control and raising a family.
Travis was a man of large statue with a heart just as big. His kind and gentle spirit was known to all who knew him. Travis was a loving husband (spoiled rotten by his late wife, Linda), adoring father (rarely even frustrated by Lacey, but the boys were another story), and doting Papa Moose to his grandchildren (grandchildren are perfect.)
Travis’s love for his family was second only to his love for his Heavenly Father. When his health allowed, Travis attended his church home, Victory Church, where he enjoyed worshipping alongside his friends and neighbors.
Travis had several things he was very passionate about; his family, Classic Rock music; gameshows; and Alabama football. Mr. White was an avid Bama fan and was excited about the upcoming season. If you knew Travis, you also knew he was almost always wearing his team’s colors and he was always ready to talk about football.
While this gentle giant may no longer be here with us, his sweet spirit and love for his family will be remembered for generations to come.
Friends are invited to join the family on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel for a time of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will follow visitation, beginning at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Collier officiating. Travis will be laid to rest in Union Grove Cemetery alongside his beloved Linda following services.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the White family.
