CULLMAN, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has scheduled an in-person public involvement meeting to provide an update on the proposed widening of Alabama Highway 69 and replacement of the St. Bernard bridge in Cullman.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 4-6 p.m. at East Elementary School, 608 Fourth Ave. SE, Cullman.
According to ALDOT, the meeting will allow residents, property owners and other interested parties to review project information, view maps, speak with project representatives and provide comments on the proposed improvements.
Updated project information is also available online through ALDOTinvolved.com. Visitors can select Public Meetings Schedule, choose Cullman County, then select Widening and Bridge Replacement on AL-69. The website includes multiple project maps showing various segments of the project, along with an online comment form for those wishing to submit feedback.
Project renderings released by ALDOT illustrate the proposed bridge replacement near St. Bernard Drive as well as planned roadway widening along Alabama Highway 69.
The project is intended to improve the corridor by replacing the existing bridge and widening portions of the roadway. Additional project details, including proposed improvements, maps and other supporting documents, are available through the ALDOT public meeting website.
Anyone with a disability requiring special assistance or anyone needing language translation or interpretation services is asked to contact the ALDOT regional office at 256-505-4956 at least five days before the meeting. ALDOT said the meeting facility is wheelchair accessible.
Residents who are unable to attend the meeting in person may still review the project information and submit comments through the ALDOT public involvement website.
